Most of the villages in Nepal have public schools that run up to primary level (i.e. 5th grade) only. In order to pursue their higher education children have to commute for long distances to near by villages or towns on foot . Due to lack of transportation, lack of security and social restrictions majority of the girls are forced to discontinue education and assist in their household chores.
In some villages, due to lack of school buildings and furnitures, students take there classes outdoors. They sit down on a piece of sack-mat in an open field where they have no control over their environment. The schools are canceled if there is any rainfall.
Also, due to lack of interest from parents and the government employed teachers the student turn out is very low. Most of the schools are understaffed, and some teachers go to school just to sign in for their attendance. Therefore, hundreds of students are supervised by a single teacher.
Due to all these problems, we are focusing on establishing some private high schools that will be more organized and systematic.
